Steffany Roup

Steffany Roup studied Jewellery Design and Manufacture at the Cape Peninsula University of technology, where she completed her degree in 2002.

She is interested in working in many different mediums and design disciplines, and while still a student, supplied stores such as Misfit and India Jane with jewellery. And while still a student, Steffany collaborated with clothing designer Samantha Bulgin of Alfalfa, where they customized and printed onto t-shirts, using the rorscharch test image, and called the label Rorscharch.

Steffany’s jewellery can be described as playful, nostalgic and slightly edgy at times.
She uses mainly silver in her work, and uses old coins to emboss images onto hearts, owls, and some other shapes. Steffany has a growing interest in stones, especially in their natural form as crystals and has started to incorporate them into her work. In the past her work has been quite intricate, with detailed design and patterns used in her pendants and earrings, now she is moving towards simpler and cleaner lines, with some of her enameled pieces being bolder and using simple geometric shapes.

Steffany has a range of womens shoe’s first continuing under the label ‘Rorschach’ and now as ‘Stefania’.

Steffany supplies Blink in Sea Point and has a stand at the Neighbourgoods Market on Saturdays in woodstock and Johannesburg.
